Marissa Siegel, M.A., CCC-SLP

Hi! I’m Marissa Siegel, an ASHA-certified SLP and author of Sammy Goes to Speech and Communication Exploration, a Roanoke Valley Family Magazine blog. Nice to meet you! Here’s a bit more about me:

Marissa Siegel opened Rising Star Speech and Language Services, in the Roanoke area in 2020. After a bachelors degree at James Madison University in 2009 and a masters degree at the University of Maryland in 2011, she pursued a career in speech-language pathology that brought about a deep understanding and appreciation of the power of communication and the importance of family involvement. Now, Marissa’s latest work highlights her superpower for bringing speech therapy and family relationships together to make every child a star through her own pediatric private practice. She focuses her work on early intervention, preschool-aged children, and elementary-aged children.

Marissa is also passionate about helping others and working to build up her community. With her book, Sammy Goes to Speech, she donates a portion of the proceeds to research on childhood communication disorders.

Drawing upon her many years of experience, Marissa Siegel offers a fun, family-centered, professional approach. She currently lives in the Roanoke, VA area with her husband and baby girl, and their four-legged family member, Banksy.
